A growing collection of over 100 gardens across the Netherlands, chosen for their beauty, variety, and photography potential. New gardens, descriptions, and photos are added over time. Made by a certified map nerd.

Featured gardens include detailed descriptions, sensory notes, and photography tips written from personal visits. If you visit a garden, tag me on Instagram β€” @marianne_eggink β€” I'd love to see what you find. 🌿

πŸ‘† How to browse
  • ✦
Tap any card to open the details and find the visitor link to Google Maps.
  • ✦
Search by name, filter by category, or narrow by province using the dropdown.
  • ✦
Cards with an Instagram or TikTok button have been featured on my socials, either in my Wander & Bloom series or other posts β€” tap to see them.
  • ✦
Found a garden you'd love to visit? Tap the β™₯ heart (next to the close button) to save it to your personal wishlist. Your saved gardens appear under ❀️ Saved in the filters. Your list is stored in your browser β€” it'll still be there when you come back, as long as you're on the same device and not using private browsing.
  • ✦
Tap πŸ–ΌοΈ Save card to save a garden as a photo to your device β€” handy for sharing with a friend or keeping offline. On iPhone, tap Save Image from the share sheet. On Android, the image saves to your Downloads folder.
  • ✦
Use the πŸ”— Share button at the bottom of a card to copy a direct link to that garden β€” handy for sending to a friend or saving for later.
  • ✦
Not sure where to start? Hit ✦ Surprise me in the search bar to open a random garden. Works with your active filters too β€” so if you're browsing Botanical Gardens in Utrecht, it'll surprise you within that selection.
πŸ—ΊοΈ Using the Google Maps version
Open in Google Maps

The Google Maps version is how this project started. It shows all gardens on a full interactive map β€” useful for planning a route or combining with your own navigation. However, the photos and descriptions are only updated on this website.

  • 1
    Open with the button above.
  • 2
The map will open in your browser or in the Google Maps app. Once opened in the app, it is automatically saved to your Google Maps app under Your Places β†’ Maps β†’ Saved. Under Maps you can toggle the Wander & Bloom map on and off.
  • 3
Tap any marker to see the garden name and visitor link.
  • 4
Tap Directions to navigate there as normal.
πŸ’‘ Best on desktop or Android β€” links in garden descriptions are fully clickable there.
πŸ“± iPhone users: There is a long-standing compatibility issue in Google Maps on iOS where links inside descriptions are not clickable. That is part of why this website exists. Use the Browse List and Full Map tabs here instead. If you do want to use the Google Maps version, use the name of the garden to search it.

About Wander & Bloom

A free photography garden map of the Netherlands

Marianne Eggink in a garden
Marianne Eggink
Journalist Β· Editor Β· Mindful photographer Β· Amsterdam
Roses and grapes in my parents' garden were my first photography subjects, at 8 years old β€” my father's analogue camera in hand. Since then I've been looking everywhere for gardens to wander and make photos. In the garden I reconnect with my inner child. I smell the flowers, toes in the grass, and sway with the trees. Capturing it is like a silent prayer to nature. A scrapbook of gifts to my future self.

As an autistic person, photography has also been a tool for grounding β€” for noticing what is actually here, and slowly befriending yourself in the process. Wander & Bloom grew out of that same impulse: to pause, to wander, and to notice what blooms along the way.

What started as a personal list of gardens to visit grew into something I want to share β€” over 100 gardens across the Netherlands, added by hand. Some I have visited myself and documented with photography reels, sensory notes, and tips for what to look for with a camera. Others are still on my bucket list to visit later. Whether you're in a photo flow or just feel a bit crumbly and need some green β€” there's a garden here for you.

If you visit a garden you found here, I would love to see what you notice β€” tag me on Instagram. Or buy me a flower to support my work!
